We are proud of being able to shine with our strengths: effective solution finding and fast response time! For a repair project at short notice, WITTE TUBE & PIPE SYSTEMS GMBH produced special flanges made of the material 1.4410 (UNS S32750) for the hold of the ship “Grandeur of the Seas”, with an extremely short production time. The “Grandeur of the Seas” is a cruise ship of the shipping company “Royal Caribbean International”, which belongs to the Vision-class. Our client, a French shipyard, sent the material produced in Belgium directly by airfreight to Washington, where it was delivered to the Sparrows Point Shipyards in Baltimore, so it could be installed as quickly as possible in the ship’s hydraulic area. We wish the “Grandeur of the Seas” and her crew safe cruising and always a hand’s width of water under the keel.

… that was the motto of our 2nd year apprentice, Jonte Schirdewan, who is currently a trainee in our export department. He was in New Zealand from 14-03 to 09-04-18 and used the time and the proximity to visit a customer: the company “STAINLESS products Ltd” was very happy about the visit of their supplier from the EU, and Mr Paul Gapper took the time for a meeting to show Mr Schirdewan the company. Pünktlich zur TUBE in Düsseldorf (16.-20.04.18) präsentieren wir unseren neuen Lagerwerkstoff 254SMO. Dieser gehört zu der Gruppe der Superausteniten und ist ein hochlegierter austenitischer Edelstahl, der für den Einsatz in Meerwasser und anderen aggressiven, chlorhaltigen Medien entwickelt wurde. Ein erhöhter Molybdän-Gehalt und die Zugabe von Stickstoff sorgen für eine ausgezeichnete Beständigkeit gegen Loch- und Spaltkorrosion (PREN = ≥42,0). Der Spezialwerkstoff 254SMO hat eine höhere Festigkeit als herkömmliche austenitische Edelstähle, zudem lässt er sich gut schweißen. Durch die hohe Beständigkeit gegen allgemeine Korrosion, säurehaltige Lösungen sowie Spannungskorrosion lässt er sich perfekt in der Chemischen Industrie, der Petrochemischen Industrie sowie der Zellstoff- und Papierindustrie einsetzen und bewährt sich auch in Meer- und Seewasseranlagen, Rauchgasanlagen und im Schiffsbau/Offshore-Bereich.
